Ring Styles to Suit Her

I hope my last post has educated you on what to look for when it comes to the quality of a diamond ring. Picking the style of a ring to suit her is a little easier. The shape of the diamond is the first thing to consider when picking out a ring for your other half. There are various shapes that you can choose from, and this depends on the type of ring you think she would love.
The most popular shape is the classic round brilliant cut. However, you may not want to pick something unique and different if your her style is not traditional of conventional.

1. Classic   2. Vintage   3. Sidestone   4. Three Stones   5.Gemstone   6. Halo   7. Monique Lhuillier
The setting of the engagement ring is important and ythis should reflect her style and taste. The 'classic' setting is the most popular when it comes to purchasing an engagement ring. For a traditional understated elegance the 'classic' and  'vintage' settings are more appropriate and this can be extended to the 'sidestone' and 'three stone' settings for a little more character. However if she prefers something that is unique and stands out than the 'gemstone', 'halo' and 'minique lhuillier' settings will do the trick!

There are usually two types of 'claw' settings: 4-claw setting and 6-claw setting. These 'claws' hold your diamond in place.

Personally, I prefer the 4-claw setting as it is a lot more open and allows for the diamond to sparkle and it looks bigger. I feel that the 6-claw engulfs the diamond in turn making it appear a lot smaller and closed in than it actually is. But I guess that's personal preference!

Finally, the wedding band! There is not as many variations of this as there is engagement rings. Just make sure to pick a band that compliments and goes well with her engagement ring. The most popular wedding band is either a plain band or a band with a row of diamonds (platinum, white gold or yellow gold your choice!). I am sure a friend or a family member can help you, or even your other half if you are both picking out the rings together!
